PYRRHURA CONURESThe Quiet Conures Pyrrhura perlata perlata Crimson Bellied Pyrrhura Conures We have bred Pyrrhura conures for about nine years. Green cheeked conures with all their mutations held our fascination. The yellow-sided and pineapple (cinnamon yellow-sided) mutations were absolutely stunning. But once we saw the Crimson Bellies brought into the USA by Richard Cusick and Rick Jordan, the ultimate goal became to own breeding pairs of this rare species. The Crimson Bellies capture all the personality and spectacular coloring of the Pys. We have sold all our young and proven pairs of Crimson Bellies. They were provided with individual cages and sleeping nests/boxes. Flying was part of their weekly routine to build strength and confidence. The Pyrrhura Conures will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope many of you will come to know and love them more. We no longer have any breeder conures or pets. Bird Butlers (http://www.birdsetc.com ) are installed in each cage. A watering dish for bathing is provided fresh each mid-day. They are fed fresh chopped veggies/fruit, sprouted seeds, and two tablespoons of quality seed mix in a dish. They also have available pellets and egg food. They are very healthy eaters, active birds, and love to play and entertain themselves. It is very difficult to capture their beauty on film. They have a brilliant crimson chest with shades of greens, blues, black and grey. They can fly like experienced jet pilots. They are not shy and enjoy interaction with the entire family. Though not great talkers, they can big up a vocabulary of ten or so words. Though not abundant in aviculture, they will grow as more folks get to know about their personality, breeding and pet qualities. We love them, and hope that you will choose to know them better!
